Tottenham Hotspur have again been linked with a possible move for Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale this summer, per Sport.
What’s the word?
Bale, of course, seemed set to move to Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning in this transfer window. He could have earned around £1m-per-week in the country.
However, the BBC reported earlier this week that Real pulled the plug on such a deal and there is now a suggestion that Spurs could be tempted to make a move.
Indeed, Sport claims that Tottenham would be interested in re-signing the player they sold to Real for a then-world record fee in 2013, but only if they can find a way to lower his wages.
Bale is reported to earn around £650,000-per-week in Spain.

A fantasy
There’s simply no hope of this happening.
Tottenham have just over a week of the transfer window left to complete their dealings.
Imagining that those dealings will include a swoop for Bale is far-fetched in the extreme.
He simply earns too much and the transfer fee would surely be too high for Spurs to countenance such a deal.
He is 30 and is earning a king’s ransom in Spain; any return to Spurs is a distant dream for most supporters and rightly so.
The transfer simply doesn’t make any sense from the north London club’s point of view, such is the lack of resale value attached to buying a player of such advanced age.
