Manchester United have brought in a world-leading athletics coach as boss Ruben Amorim has concerns about body-fat and conditioning levels.

Amorim expressed his concerns about the "general condition" and body-fat levels of his squad after replacing Erik ten Hag as manager back in November. As a result, United are now working with renowned athletics coach Harry Marra for several weeks in a bid to address these issues, according to .

Marra is best known for his work with Olympic gold medallist Ashton Eaton. The decathlete tasted glory in 2012 and 2016 while working with Marra. The 78-year-old has also worked with Major League Baseball team the San Francisco Giants as a speed and fitness consultant and is now sharing his vast knowledge with United's fitness and sports science staff. Marra's arrival is said to have "been a cause of some excitement" at United due to his "almost guru-like status."
