Enzo Maresca's side are also closing in on a deal to sign Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion. It's easy to have concerns about Chelsea's approach to squad-building – they've already signed eight players in the transfer window – but while many of their arrivals have been with the future mind, Osimhen would be for the here and now; he's 25 years old and already established as one of the best strikers in Europe, having scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli.
DID YOU KNOW?
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Chelsea could still be in for attacking players after the Neto and Omorodion signings. Osimhen is on their wishlist but the Nigerian has no intention to reduce his salary or accept a loan deal. The Blues will only push ahead with a deal if Osimhen's stance changes.

We'll see in the coming days how badly Osimhen wants to leave Napoli. Good luck to Maresca, though, who faces an even bigger headache keeping everyone in Chelsea's excessive squad happy should the striker arrive.
