Salah is into the last six months of his Liverpool deal, with the 32-year-old stating he and the club are "far away" from reaching an agreement on a new contract. "He is a brilliant player," Owen told Premier League Productions. "He scores goals – and we don't know if Mohamed Salah will stay or leave but, if he leaves, Semenyo should be his replacement."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Salah is enjoying a brilliant season for Liverpool, scoring 21 goals and creating 17 assists in just 29 games in all competitions. Semenyo's numbers are not so impressive at seven goals and three assists but many will find Salah is a very hard act to follow. However, the 25-year-old will not come on the cheap, if Liverpool pursued him, as he has a contract until 2029 with the Cherries.
