Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to react after Adam Blackmore of BBC Radio Solent provided a positive update on James Ward-Prowse’s injury. The Southampton No.16 went down in agony after a collision with Ryan Sessegnon in the first-half, before being carried off the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium turf on a stretcher in worrying fashion.
However, following the full-time whistle of what was a thrilling five-goal FA Cup tie, Ralph Hasenhuttl eased fears over a serious injury by saying that it was nothing more than a deep cut, and that the midfielder could even be back for the Premier League clash against Burnley on February 15th.
The former RB Leipzig boss’ update comes as positive news, especially given Ward-Prowse’s importance to the Saints.
The 25-year-old had played 90 minutes on 30 occasions this season before the game against Jose Mourinho’s side kicked off, while he has also amassed four goals and two assists in 25 Premier League starts this term.
