One name that has cropped up over the last 24 hours or so is Jan Kirchoff. The 27-year-old has been without a club since leaving Sunderland at the end of last season.
Formerly of Bayern Munich, Kirchoff made 22 Premier League appearances for Sunderland before departing due to a number of injury problems.
The holding midfielder, who is also capable of operating in defence, is back to fitness following another spell on the sidelines, and West Ham have been linked with a swoop for the free agent.
